Data & Security

Our Commitment

Scout-Ops was built by a Girl Scout troop leader to reduce administrative burden for volunteers while respecting the privacy of girls, families, and troop communities. We believe troop information should be used only to support troop operations — never sold, mined, or used for advertising.

How We Protect Your Data

Role-Based Access Controls

Scout-Ops enforces granular role-based permissions. Admins, volunteers, treasurers, cookie managers, and parents each see only the data relevant to their role. Sensitive financial and medical information is restricted to authorized roles.

Troop Data Isolation

Every record in Scout-Ops is scoped to a specific troop. Users can only access data for the troop(s) they are authorized members of. No cross-troop data access is permitted.

Secure Login & Authentication

User authentication is handled through secure login flows including email/password and Google OAuth. Session tokens are managed securely and users may log out at any time.

Encrypted Connections

Scout-Ops uses HTTPS encryption for all connections where supported, protecting data in transit between your device and our servers.

Limited Data Collection

Scout-Ops collects only the information needed to operate troop management features. We do not collect unnecessary personal data, device data, or behavioral tracking beyond basic usage analytics.

No Sale of Personal Data

Scout-Ops does not sell, rent, or trade personal information to any third party, ever.

No Advertising Use

User data is never used for advertising, behavioral profiling, or marketing purposes — not by Scout-Ops and not by any third party we work with.

Payment Data Handled by Stripe

All payment card data is handled directly by Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment processor. Scout-Ops does not store full payment card numbers. Only transaction metadata (amounts, status, descriptions) is retained for troop financial records.

Activity Analytics — Metadata Only

Scout-Ops tracks usage metadata such as page views and feature interactions to help improve the platform. Analytics do not capture private health details, message contents, payment card numbers, or any sensitive personal information.

Hosted on Base44 Infrastructure

Scout-Ops is hosted on Base44 infrastructure and relies on Base44 and related service providers for platform security, uptime, and data storage. Base44's infrastructure provides the underlying security foundation for Scout-Ops operations.

Data Questions & Deletion Requests

Users who have questions about their data, want to request data deletion, or want to report a security concern should contact us through the Support section of the app.

Parents and guardians may also request review or removal of their child's information by contacting support directly.

Reporting Security Issues

If you believe you have identified a security vulnerability or data exposure in Scout-Ops, please contact us immediately through the Support section. We take all security reports seriously.
